The portal turns stone into a sequence of stories. Look at the figures and gestures on the jambs before taking in the whole façade: episodes from the saint's life show how doorways also taught. The tower once formed part of the town's defences, connecting church and wall. Check interior access, and study the entrance without blocking worshippers or the street.
Sources checked on 19 October 2026. Opening and access may change. The walk does not include admission; allow extra time for interiors. Routes have not been audited for accessibility.

Read the tower through two materials
The municipal listing distinguishes stone and brick sections in the tower. We suggest comparing these bands from a safe position in the square before approaching the doorway: one silhouette can preserve different building campaigns. There is no need to climb to appreciate this exterior reading.
From carved narrative to interior space
If entering, compare the doorway’s concentration of figures with the restrained interior walls. This changes how you observe: choose one gesture outside, then follow the organisation of space inside. Check opening and services, and do not assign identities to tombs or scenes where the sources themselves express uncertainty.
