The twin towers dominate Market Square, but there is more than the façade. The usual entrance is on Portales, where street noise gives way to columns, vaults and chapels. Take your time and leave room for people coming to pray. Group visits and tower climbs have their own arrangements: check those separately before planning your visit around the church interior.

Plan this visit

Find the appropriate entrance

The operator identifies Portales as the usual entrance and reserves other doors for special occasions. We suggest separating study of the main façade from entering the church: the Mercado square frontage is not necessarily the operating door. Enquire about that access if specific mobility arrangements are important.

Choose how to interpret the interior

The cathedral offers a multilingual QR audio guide and group visits with separate arrangements. Decide between independent observation and guided explanation before planning the day. With your own guide, check the church’s booking requirements. Do not assume a tower ascent is included in general admission or equivalent to moving around the nave.
