Segovia with children

Start at the Aqueduct and choose a few stops towards Casa de los Picos and Plaza Mayor. The route climbs: there is no need to see everything at once. Include breaks and a return option before children get tired.

The Aqueduct was not created as urban decoration: it brought water into Segovia. Its large granite blocks were laid without mortar, relying on careful cutting and balanced forces. From Azoguejo square, follow the double row of arches, then imagine the water channel continuing beyond the visible structure. The monumental section is only part of an extensive work of Roman engineering.

From the Aqueduct to a square

Start at the Aqueduct and choose a few stops towards Casa de los Picos and Plaza Mayor. The route climbs: there is no need to see everything at once. Include breaks and a return option before children get tired.

Take your time at the castle

For the Alcázar, check tickets and conditions for children. The Tower of Juan II has stairs: do not automatically include it with a pushchair or someone who struggles with steps. The exterior surroundings are also enjoyable.

Layers and the station

Dress for the forecast and wear shoes for cobbled streets. Segovia-Guiomar is outside the historic centre: plan that transfer separately. If heading into the Eresma valley, account for the uphill return too.
