The museum connects your Roman walk with other periods in the province. Mosaics, sculpture and religious objects add perspectives after the walls. The former Franciscan complex also contributes its own architecture, so look beyond the display cases. Choose a few galleries for an unhurried visit and check which spaces are open, especially if seeking the cloister, garden or a particular temporary exhibition.

Plan this visit

From convent space to everyday object

Official information places ethnographic objects in the former kitchen and stone collections in the cloister. We suggest comparing how setting changes interpretation: a tool in a kitchen and an inscription in an open circuit prompt different questions about use, origin and conservation.

Choose a collection without covering everything

Focus on archaeology, Galician art or ceramics after checking available rooms. Museum guides and virtual resources help with that choice but do not guarantee every illustrated object is displayed today. Distinguish museum admission from San Pedro church too: they share convent history but should not be assumed to form one access arrangement.
