Palacio del Infantado

The Infantado façade turns a wall into a surface of light and shade. Notice the diamond points and upper gallery before approaching the doorway. The Mendoza palace combines decorative traditions in a building designed to impress. Courtyard and museum deserve separate time: check opening rather than treating a view from the square as a full visit.

Plan this visit

From the façade to the courtyard

The municipal description highlights facing figures in the Courtyard of the Lions. If accessible, compare that ornament with the façade’s pattern: moving from an urban frontage to a space enclosed by galleries offers two experiences of the palace’s public image. Choose one detail before collecting more photographs.

Palace and collection are different goals

The Museum of Guadalajara occupies this building, but viewing the architecture and exploring the galleries need different plans. Check museum information for available spaces and group booking. For a particular exhibition, confirm its dates before travelling. Do not interpret an open courtyard or a special event as guaranteed access to every part of the building.
