Sant Pere shows that a fortress was more than a wall around houses. Associated with Portal Nou, the bastion arranges access through projecting shapes and protected approaches; above, the Cavaller de Sant Lluc added an artillery position. Study the rounded defensive projection and compare its geometry with the streets behind it. The tunnel towards Parc Reina Sofia provides a connection between lower and upper town different from the main ses Taules entrance. The complex also hosts cultural uses and interpretation, whose access needs checking for your date. You need not imagine a battle to understand it: follow where each approach could be watched. Pause at the exterior without assuming the climb is suitable for every mobility requirement.

Plan this visit

Follow a different entrance

Portal Nou connects through a tunnel to Parc Reina Sofia. We suggest comparing this approach with ses Taules: notice the changing relationship between route, wall and interior space. They are different ways in, not two names for the same monumental entrance.

Read an artillery position

Find the circular defensive projection and raised Cavaller de Sant Lluc described by the municipality. Look at which approaches the defences face. Understanding position reveals more than imagining the bastion as a platform originally intended for panoramic views.

Separate exterior and programme

The municipality mentions a stage and interpretation space, but that does not establish an activity available at every hour. Confirm opening or an event if you want to enter. For an exterior walk, choose your continuation before adding more ramparts and slopes; this guide has not certified the route as accessible.
