Royal Walls

The Royal Walls tell the story of a city defending a narrow passage between two seas. Study bastions, bridges and successive defensive lines: their scale is clearer from several viewpoints than one frontal photograph. Then check exhibition spaces and the Caliphal Gate, a separate visit worth arranging ahead.

Plan this visit

Two different visits within one ensemble

We suggest separating the exterior defence walk from a visit to the Caliphate Gate archaeological site. Outside, compare the positions of walls and bastions; inside, archaeological interpretation explains structures enclosed by later construction. They are complementary experiences rather than interchangeable versions of the same stop.

Confirm an announced session rather than copy a date

Tourist Services publishes visits for specific days and requires advance registration. A past event does not establish availability for your journey. Contact the organiser to confirm the session, meeting point and route; site access includes stairs. Without a place, plan the exterior reading without assuming archaeological entry is included.
