Genovés Park replaces the stone of the streets with a collection of plant forms. It retains the character of a nineteenth-century romantic garden, with an orderly central promenade and more irregular paths to the sides. Notice the contrast: walking through a garden also means choosing perspectives. Fountains, trees, shrubs and sculptures create somewhere to rest without leaving the historic town. You do not need to identify every species to enjoy the setting; pause and observe shapes, sizes and textures. Add this extension when you have time to continue towards La Caleta. Check access, which may change with weather, and respect planted areas.

Plan this visit

Choose between the axis and a detour

From the Plaza Rocío Jurado entrance, compare the order of the central avenue with the side paths. The first view reveals symmetry; the second lets you discover the garden in fragments. Our suggestion is to enter along the axis and return by one side, watching how trees, open space and perspective relate without trying to identify every species.

Make water your focus

The pond, waterfall and grotto ensemble offers another kind of landscape, designed to surprise within the garden. You need not turn it into a checklist: choose a position relating vegetation and water. Afterwards, decide whether to continue towards Santa Catalina and La Caleta or make the park a longer pause before returning to the centre.
