Málaga with children

Málaga Park and the port offer a walk with breaks. Choose a section towards the Pompidou and La Farola; Malagueta can be another plan, weather permitting. Bring water, find shade and allow time for food and the return journey.

Málaga Park developed on land reclaimed from the sea and was received by the city in 1897. That history connects its vegetation with the changing coastline. Walk slowly through a section, comparing trees, shade and views. More than a space between monuments, the park helps explain how the city incorporated a landscaped promenade into its seafront.

A walk you can shorten

Málaga Park and the port offer a walk with breaks. Choose a section towards the Pompidou and La Farola; Malagueta can be another plan, weather permitting. Bring water, find shade and allow time for food and the return journey.

Choose one visit before leaving

Check family activities at the Picasso Museum and city museums for your date and children’s ages. A workshop may need a separate reservation from general admission. Avoid several timed tickets in succession.

Hills and transfers

The Alcazaba and Gibralfaro are not a flat walk: check access when bringing a pushchair. La Concepción and Pedregalejo lie beyond the short city-centre route. Choose one outing and plan both journeys.
