The Glorieta introduces a Murcia open to the river and everyday life. Opposite the Town Hall, fountains and flowers create an urban garden where your walk can begin slowly. This space has had different names throughout its history; today its official name is Glorieta de España. Notice the relationship between fountain water, façades and the Segura, so close yet separate from the garden. There is no need to hurry through towards the cathedral: take a few minutes to listen and look. This makes a useful first stop for finding your bearings, taking a break and deciding which part of the centre to explore next.

Plan this visit
Follow the arrangement of the water
Compare the circular fountain facing the Town Hall with the two elongated fountains organising the garden. We suggest following that axis first, then viewing it from one end: water becomes a way of structuring space rather than simply decoration. Choose a frame combining fountain and façade to remember the relationship between garden and public building.
Pause before choosing a route
Use the Glorieta to decide which Murcia to explore next: monumental spaces towards Belluga, or the river and its bridges. If doing both, return afterwards to compare perspectives. You need not add every monument to the same morning; a pause here helps distinguish an urban walk from a more concentrated interior visit. Choose the next section according to the time you actually want to spend inside.
