The square helps you find your bearings before exploring the centre. Its name recalls the Augustinian convent. Notice how different routes open from one space and look at façades, shade and everyday life. This is a meeting place as well as a crossing; pause at the edge without obstructing others.

Plan this visit

Read the city through one square

Find the former Hotel París and its dome, known as La Bola, and compare it with the Augustinian convent. The provincial archive explains how older houses gave way to prominent buildings. You can explore that change from the square without entering them.

A short observation walk

Our suggestion: view the whole square from an edge, identify the dome and finish by locating the convent. Compare building heights and façades before continuing. This sequence is an editorial suggestion rather than a booked guided visit.

When this stop fits

Use it as an introduction when arriving in the centre and finding your bearings. If you want a collection or a historic interior, combine it with another visit: walking around the square does not include access to the convent or surrounding buildings.
